HTML Documents and Images

Top  Previous  Next

When checking HTML documents in that contain images for the first time, the images do not initially display.  When the user releases that document for the first time, they are prompted to upload the associated images as shown:

Importing Images for HTML docs

If the HTML document was edited in MS Word, all images within that document are automatically saved in a subfolder of the same name.  For instance, if the document name is Editing Documents in Qualtrax 4.0 a folder of the same name is created where all images in that HTML document are automatically stored.  The images themselves are named in order as image001.jpg, image002.jpg, etc.  If using FrontPage as your HTML editor, the images are just saved in the same folder as the HTML document and are saved as the document_name.1.jpg (Editing Documents in Qualtrax 4.0.1.jpg, etc.).

Wherever the images are saved, the user must browse to and upload each of the images.  Once all images have been uploaded, click on the Save Images button button.

Images-File Imported

All uploaded/saved images are saved in Qualtrax as child documents of the HTML document being released.

Image Child Docs

Child images in Qualtrax are treated like uncontrolled documents.  This means that Qualtrax refers to them as if they were documents.  Please refer to the Uncontrolled Documents topic for additional details.

NOTE:  Since images associated with HTML documents are uncontrolled they cannot be edited.  Therefore, if an image needs updating it must be replaced.
