Alter Tree

If you have the Alter Tree permission, you can manually rearrange documents and folders in the Browse Tree.  You will also need Edit Security to any items you want to move, as well as their parent folders.

Drag and Drop

You can Drag and Drop a document or folder only if you have Edit Security to the item you're moving, the location you're removing it from, and the new location.

1.Click the desired document or folder. Keeping it selected, drag it to the other folder, then release.

Cut, Copy and Paste

You can Cut, Copy and Paste documents and folders only if you have Edit Security to the item you're moving, the folder you're cutting or copying the item from, and the folder you're moving it into. Cut and Paste removes a folder or document from its present location and adds it to a new location. Copy and Paste simply adds another link to the item in a new location.

1.Right click a document or folder and select Cut or Copy, then right click another folder and select Paste.  The Paste option may appear greyed out if you do not have Edit Security to that folder.

2.The Browse Tree refreshes to show your changes. If you copied the item, there is now a link to that item in a second folder.

Removing a link does not cause an item to be deleted, and you may remove as many locations as you wish as long as you leave at least one. For information on removing a document from the Browse Tree entirely, see Retire.

1.Right click the document or folder in the Browse Tree and select Remove Document Location.
